Inula

A little yellow in the green

It is a spontaneous plant that grows abundantly from mid-August to September in mown soils. Together with its close relative, Dittrichia Viscosa, it is almost the only green grass at the end of August.

De gustibus

It is distilled when the small yellow flowers open. It has a very strong pungent odour and it is curious how there are people to whom it seems a wonderful perfume and others to whom it is smelly.

0,1%

It is a difficult distillation, because if you do not consider various factors, you can create a kind of resin that ruins the essential oil. It also has an extremely low yield, around 0.1% or less.
